Semaglutide:
Semaglutide is a medication classified under the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists group. It's primarily prescribed for managing type 2 diabetes and has also gained approval for assisting in weight management. Semaglutide facilitates weight loss through several mechanisms:
Reducing Appetite: As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, semaglutide simulates the action of GLP-1, a hormone naturally secreted in the intestines that regulates glucose metabolism and appetite. It promotes a sensation of satiety, diminishes appetite, and lowers the urge to eat, which can lead to a reduction in calorie consumption.
Slowing Down Stomach Emptying: Semaglutide and other GLP-1 receptor agonists decelerate the process of gastric emptying. This slows nutrient absorption, aids in stabilizing blood sugar levels, and minimizes the sharp increases and decreases in hunger that can cause overeating.
Influencing the Central Nervous System: The central nervous system, including areas like the hypothalamus that regulate energy balance, contains GLP-1 receptors. Activating these receptors may alter neural pathways that govern appetite and food consumption.
Enhancing Insulin Sensitivity: Semaglutide improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin, similar to other GLP-1 receptor agonists. Enhanced insulin sensitivity helps cells use glucose more effectively, possibly decreasing the likelihood of excess calorie storage as fat
Tirzepatide:
Tirzepatide is a medication used primarily in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and for weight management in individuals who are overweight or obese. It represents a new class of medication that simultaneously targets two different pathways involved in glucose regulation and appetite control: the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor and the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor. This dual agonist approach is what sets tirzepatide apart from other diabetes and weight management medications.
Mechanism of Action:
GLP-1 Receptor Agonism: Similar to GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide, tirzepatide enhances insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, which helps lower blood sugar levels. It also slows gastric emptying and suppresses appetite, contributing to weight loss.
GIP Receptor Agonism: By also targeting the GIP receptor, tirzepatide amplifies its effects on insulin secretion and has a role in reducing fat storage in the body. GIP is another hormone involved in glucose metabolism, and its receptor’s activation complements the actions of GLP-1, leading to improved glucose control and further potential for weight reduction.
Lipo Injections aka “skinny shot”:
This is an intramuscular injection that is a blend of Vitamins, lipotropic compounds and amino acids to increase energy and burn fat. This medication prevents an excess of fatty buildup in the liver and body, boosts metabolism, suppresses appetite, increases energy production, and promotes metabolism of fat. This medication can be used in conjunction with our other weight loss plans or alone. This may be given once a week.
